A new Biggby Coffee location opens in Livonia at 10 a.m. Tuesday at 11003 Middlebelt with drink samples and prizes.

Friends Duane Walczak, 51, of Bloomfield Hills and Rick Knight, 51, of Novi are opening the location that features a drive-through, fireplace and flat-screen television. They will sell coffee, tea, baked goods and other food items.

The hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Biggby Coffee was founded in East Lansing in 1995 and began franchising in 1999.

It has 109 stores and 59 in development in eight states: Michigan, Ohio, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, South Carolina and Wisconsin.
