A once-popular New Sudbury restaurant has been closed after its owners filed for bankruptcy.
East Side Mario’s at 900 Lasalle Blvd. has been closed for several days and the restaurant’s fate remains unclear.
The owners of the Lasalle franchise could not be reached for comment.
The Mississauga-based franchisor for East Side Mario’s restaurants would only confirm that the New Sudbury franchise is closed due to bankruptcy.
“The owners of that location have filed for voluntary bankruptcy and the trustee has closed down the restaurant as part of the bankruptcy proceedings,” said Cathy Cowan, spokeswoman for Prime Restaurants of Canada.
