The three-day exhibition will be held from July 31-Aug 2 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) here.

Last year, the exhibition recorded RM283.3 million in overall business, with about 9,000 visitors, of whom 40 percent were international participants.

“This year, we will focus on seminars as there are more foreign delegates attending due to the World Franchise Council and the Asia Pacific Franchise Federation meetings, in conjunction with the exhibition,” said MFA secretary general Hasma Ahmad, at the official launch of Franchise International Malaysia 2009 today.

“We are confident of achieving the business target despite the current economic crisis as the franchising industry has still plenty of room to grow,” she added.

Currently, the franchising industry constitutes about five percent of the retail sector.
