A national pizza franchisee will open its third store in west Wichita, with more to come as the market grows for “family-priced pizza.”
Kris Anderson and Jeff Krause’s Little Caesar’s Pizza will open in a month in about 1,300 square feet at 1444 N. Maize Road, in a strip center leased by InSite Real Estate Group.
More stores are in the offing, Anderson said, as Little Caesar’s grows in a struggling local economy.
“We’ll look at wherever there’s a good location,” Anderson said. “Our business has been strong and steady throughout, and we think now is a really good time as a value-priced option for families. That’s where our niche is.”
Anderson said Maize Road remains a good street for a new restaurant.
“It’s a great demographic,” she said. “Lots of families, good traffic count, nice area. We think it’s a great location for a restaurant.”
It’s a good time for a value-based fast-food restaurant to expand, said Don Sayler, president of the Kansas Restaurant and Hospitality Association.
“Right now, fast food is still the hot ticket in town,” he said.
