Last Lakeland Quiznos Closes

The last Quiznos sub shop in Lakeland is toast.

Owners of the downtown franchise location at 134 S. Kentucky Ave. were recently evicted after racking up more than $6,000 in late rent and sales tax, according to court documents. The final eviction notice was signed June 2.

It was hardly an isolated incident. The Denver-based sandwich franchise operation has seen the vast majority of its Polk County locations close during the past several years.

Joe Lorio, property manager for the Kentucky Avenue site, said he doesn’t know why the shop closed after roughly three years in business. More.
