WiredPRNews.com:

Popular convenience store chain 7-11 is reportedly looking to recruit veterans as franchisees. As reported by the Dallas Business Journal, the retailer is set to open 200 stores this year, and is offering discounts to U.S. Armed Forces veterans for franchising them.

As noted in the report, a total of 1,300 stores across the United States are available for franchising. President and CEO of 7-11 Joe DePinto is quoted by the Dallas Business Journal as stating, “This is the first time we have offered a reduction like this in our franchise fees, and I can’t think of a better group to receive this benefit than the men and women who have so selflessly served to protect the freedoms we enjoy in America.”

Charles Wetzel, president of Buxton Co., a retail analysts firm in Dallas, is further quoted as stating, “Retired military is a good audience for 7-Eleven as they have an inherent level of discipline and structure through training. Franchises are looking for new ways to market themselves and this is a great example.”
