Joy Community Development Corporation (JCDC) – the faith based, non-sectarian, non-profit organization directly responsible for creating 53 jobs in New Jersey during the last difficult eighteen months – will host a Dinner and Fundraising Event entitled “Putting Everyday People to Work” featuring speakers Mayor of South Plainfield Charles F. Butrico and Newark City Councilman Ronald Rice. At the Pines Manor, 2085 Route 27 in Edison, NJ from 7:00pm – 10:00pm, attendees including many prominent community and business leaders will enjoy an evening including live Jazz, fine dining, a silent auction and a raffle for an exclusive “weekend getaway”.
JCDC states, “It makes me proud to know, that we have created more new businesses during the recession than any other nonprofit in the State of New Jersey. In fact our goal is to create over 1,000 jobs over the next 10 years. With private and public support we can exceed that goal. We are doing our part to revitalize the New Jersey Economy.”
Governor Corzine states, “JCDC has identified a critical mission – to serve as an innovative way for the church to get involved in solving the problems of the community. Their diligence and dedication have helped to maintain hope during a time of financial strain.”

This is really an instance of becoming part of the solution rather than just complaining about the problem. I applaud and support your bold effort to do an uncommon thing in a common way.
