Taking a strong stand for comprehensive health-care reform, three International Franchise Association members recently appeared on the U.S. Capitol’s lawn for a press conference with several members of Congress. Speaking publicly to offer the franchising industry’s solutions for repairing the nation’s health-delivery system were ServiceMaster franchisee Christiana Logansmith, Dogtopia CEO Amy Nichols and UPS Stores franchisee Julie Sterling. The three joined U.S. House Republican Conference Vice Chairwoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (Wash.) and Reps. Michele Bachmann (Minn.), Judy Biggert (Ill.), Marsha Blackburn (Tenn.), Mary Fallin (Okla.), Virginia Foxx (N.C.), Kay Granger (Texas), Lynn Jenkins (Kan.), Cynthia Lummis (Wyo.) and Jean Schmidt (Ohio).
