The UK Franchise Directory, which provides a complete guide to franchising in the UK, was launched at the British and International Franchise Exhibition. The UK Franchise Directory is aimed at prospective franchise owners and provides a listing of franchises available in the UK, as well as advisory features from industry professionals and a franchise buyer’s checklist. It can be purchased at a range of outlets including news agents and bookshops.

Roy Seaman, Publisher of The UK Franchise Directory, says: ‘Data collected by the British Franchise Association found that nine out of 10 franchise owners operate a profitable business and 25 per cent of those turnover £500,000 or more. These high success rates coupled with the growing number of people being made redundant nationwide has had a positive effect on the franchise industry with more people taking the plunge and becoming their own boss.
