Lion’s Choice on Pine Street, the fast-food chain’s only downtown St. Louis location, closed its doors Monday after failing to negotiate a new lease with its landlord.

Tom Ginos, operating partner of Valley Beef LLC, the franchisee that owns the fast food chain’s downtown location and five other Lion’s Choice restaurants in the St. Louis area, said he couldn’t work out lease issues with the building’s landlord, Urban Growth Properties Trust in Chicago.

“Unfortunately, we couldn’t get things worked out so it was time to move on,” Ginos said.
