The Counter Taps Wright As Svp Franchise Sales

The Counter, a 20-unit build-your-own-burger franchise concept, has hired former Panera Bread executive Peter Wright in the newly created position of senior vice president of franchise sales, officials announced Tuesday.

Wright worked previously as director of franchise sales and administration at Panera LLC, where he negotiated 48 domestic development agreements and assisted that chain’s growth into Canada. Prior experience included a stint with Starbucks Corp.

Based in Culver City, Calif., The Counter was founded in 2003 by Jeff Weinstein, who is co-chief executive.
