Lansing State Journal:

Lansing’s first Sonic drive-in restaurant is expected to open next spring. Flint-based franchisee Miller-Apple LP plans to build the 1,800-square-foot burger joint at the site of the Governor’s Inn, 6133 S. Pennsylvania Ave. in south Lansing.

The hotel has been vacant for several months. The $2 million project is expected to create more than 60 part-time jobs.

Demolition of the hotel should be complete by the end of the year, and the restaurant should open by April or May, said Martha Sanford, director of marketing for Miller-Apple. About three acres will be available for additional development once the hotel is razed.
