A U.S. Air Force veteran is the first Florida resident to accept a discount franchising deal from 7-Eleven Inc.
Volusia County, Florida, resident Randy Harrell and his wife, Kristi, are slated to take over as franchisee in early November at the 7-Eleven store on Dunlawton Avenue in Port Orange for an undisclosed price, according to a report in the Orlando Business Journal.
7-Eleven earlier this year launched a military-veterans franchise program that offers a 10% break on initial franchise fees to service veterans who become first-time franchisees. The discount can range from $1,000 to about $35,000, 7-Eleven said in a news release, according to the newspaper.
“That discount really helped us make the decision,” Harrell said in a prepared statement. “It’s a great opportunity.”
