Springtime — now just 10 days away from arrival — means home improvement for many, and House Doctors is becoming a leader in the field.

The local franchise of House Doctors is led by a woman, despite handyman work being overwhelmingly a male-dominated industry.

Kaye Jones has worked in a variety of fields in her 52 years — pumping gas and checking oil in Hawaii, saving lives as an emergency medical technician in Georgia, owning a wireless communications store in North Carolina and working as a real estate agent in Michigan, to name a few — but despite the noticeable differences in her careers, each had a common theme:

She was a woman where men were typically the rule.
