Macca’s Opens China Hamburger Uni

McDonald’s is capitalising on Chinese investment fever by launching a new Hamburger University in Shanghai and aiming to nearly double the number of branches.

Over 125,000 people have graduated from the fast food chain’s six Hamburger Universities (HUs) worldwide and the Chinese centre aims to churn out 5000 students over the next five yearsm, Sky News reported.

“We are signalling our enormous confidence in China and our commitment to developing an even bigger presence in this market,” Tim Fenton, president of McDonald’s Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa said.

“I think it is fitting to open the (China) HU now, during the 20th anniversary of doing business in China.”
