Waffle House Franchisee Attempts To Close 36 Restaurants In Triad

On April 6 at 10:00pm, nearly 800 Waffle House employees around the Triad received a notice no one wants to get. Waffle House franchisee and owner of Freeway Foods, Gary Fly, decided to cease operations of 36 restaurants.

Waffle House, Inc was able to step in and takeover operations of 34 restaurants. Two locations are now closed at 3929 Battleground Avenue in Greensboro and 150 Beau View Court in Winston-Salem. Employees from the closed locations were transferred to other restaurants.
