Rollerskating from the kitchen at Sonic Drive-In at Post and Wickham roads in Melbourne last week, Hayley Reath, an 18-year-old senior at Eau Gallie High, was all smiles as she took the order of an older couple out for a drive in their Porsche convertible.
There were a few reasons behind that smile.
A Porsche owner might mean a healthy tip for the carhop, something that would help pay for a graduation cruise she has been saving for over the past several months.
More importantly, though, was that unlike many of her classmates, Reath was out earning money, big tip or not. For young people, that’s certainly a reason to smile these days.
