Texarkana Gazette:

The Snap-on franchisee who told authorities he had been robbed at gunpoint made up the story, officials said.

Gary Allen Underwood, 50, told Texarkana, Ark., police he was kidnapped and forced to drive his company vehicle to the Sulphur River. He claimed the events took place Oct. 8, 2009, said Kristi Mitchell, TAPD spokeswoman.

A six-month investigation of the incident turned up information that suggested Underwood filed a false report, Mitchell said.
