Local restaurant franchisee Tri State Restaurants LLC has snapped up 12 existing Checkers locations from corporate owner Checkers Drive-In Restaurants Inc.
Tri State now operates all 13 Checkers locations in the Memphis market and plans to open nine new stores in the next several years.
“We have deep roots in Memphis and across our development territory and I’m thrilled to expand our operations and Checkers’ presence in the area,” said Tri State leader Anwar Aman. “We have a strong passion for the Checkers brand and look forward to operating these 12 additional restaurants in Memphis and opening many more.”
When Tri State’s new Checkers stores are opened, no more will be built.
