A fast food worker from St Albans man has been awarded an apprenticeship scheme after almost a year of unemployment.
Marcus Collins, of Lynton Avenue, became McDonald’s 1,000th employee to receive the hospitality apprenticeship after just six months with the company.
After being made redundant as an IT administrator at a London-based law firm and 11 months of unemployment, Marcus applied to McDonalds and is now teaching new recruits to run restaurants. Just two months into the job, Marcus, 24, was accepted onto the company’s apprenticeship scheme, which provides management skills from restaurant operations, to finance, marketing and HR. More.
