McDonald’s A ‘Family Business,’ Angels Camp Franchisee Says

Calaveras Enterprise:

Angels Camp’s McDonald’s restaurant seems to have almost materialized; a few short weeks ago, commuters drove past an empty lot on their way to work only to find a full restaurant frame on their way home.

The speed isn’t imagined, said franchise owner Dennis Grasspointer. The 3,500-square-foot restaurant will be completed in a mere 85 days, compared to the 100 to 150 typical of other McDonald’s stores.

“It’s the fastest-built restaurant I’ve ever been a part of,” Grasspointer said.

He’s been a part of quite a few – the Angels Camp location will be Grasspointer’s 16th McDonald’s franchise, he told the Angels Camp Business Association Monday evening. His restaurants span from Livingston to Ripon.
