Rodney Warren, longtime local Sonic Drive In franchisee, has offered to buy three restaurants from the estate of admitted swindler Benny Lee Judah for almost $1.73 million.
The proposed deal, which includes the Moose Magoo’s restaurant business and real estate in Lubbock, along with Judah’s Harrigan’s restaurant operations in Lubbock and Odessa, was placed in escrow Thursday.
U.S. District Judge Sam R. Cummings’ acceptance of the initial offer Thursday started an overbid period in which someone could displace Warren with a bid at least 10 percent greater than the Sonic operator’s offer. Read full post.
