Taking over an existing franchise can be a great way to get a head start in business, but it can also be a big challenge.

Get it right and turnover will grow, as Darren Senior has discovered in the last few months.

The 47-year-old salesman took over the Dream Doors showroom in Exeter in July and in the first two months turned over £100,000 – half the figure the previous franchise owner made in a year.

Darren said: “The difference has been down to handling the leads reliably and professionally.

“My philosophy is to listen to the customer and deliver to their expectations by accurately explaining all of the features and benefits of the kitchen or kitchen facelift they’re about to buy.
