Loblaw opened Edmonton’s first No Frills food store on Wednesday.
The 33,000-square-foot discount store is part of the country’s biggest food store chain, but unlike sister retailer the Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills stores are operated by franchisees.
Leonhardt’s No Frills, at 15411 97th St. NW, is owned by Steve Leonhardt.
“It has everything that a conventional grocery store is going to have,” Leonhardt said. “I’d say the difference is we offer lower prices and better value for the consumer.
“It’s a streamlined decor. We don’t spend a lot of money on extra displays and fancy equipment. We try to offer great product in a clean environment.” More.
