Zaxby’s Restaurant Opening Delayed

The opening of Zaxby’s restaurant on Avalon Avenue in Muscle Shoals has been delayed by a few weeks, according to Kurt Wilson, franchise owner and partner in Chandler-Wilson.

An unexpected delay in the franchising documents from the Zaxby’s headquarters in Athens, Ga., has pushed the opening date to Jan. 10, he said. It was originally set to open by Dec. 15.

“We’re ready and willing and anxious to get the store up and running,” Wilson said. “As soon as we get the official legal go-ahead from the Zaxby’s Corporation, we’ll start immediately.”

Zaxby’s, a regional food chain specializing in chicken tenders, already has a store on Cox Creek Parkway in Florence. This will be its first store in Colbert County.
