NPC International Inc. cooked up a much tastier 2010, using simplified pricing inspired by Pizza Hut’s $10 Any Pizza promotion to boost formerly flagging sales and nearly double profits.
For the year that ended Dec. 28, the Overland Park-based Pizza Hut franchisee’s revenue rose by about 11 percent to $978.3 million, and earnings almost doubled to $21.46 million.
In a written statement, NPC CEO Jim Schwartz described the 2010 figures as “turnaround results.”
