Barbecue Chain Coming To Houma

A Houma couple have signed an agreement to open a Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Houma, according to the company and its new franchisee, Carrel Hymel.

It will be the first Louisiana restaurant for the Dallas-based fast-casual barbecue chain. Hymel says he is scoping out locations on Park Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard and expects to open within six months.

Hymel and his wife, Nicole, are barbecue fans and wanted to diversify their business. They own three Cornerstone Academy day cares in the area. More.
