Flip-Flop Franchise To Open At Augusta Mall

Atlanta-based national retail chain Flip Flop Shops is opening its first Georgia store in Augusta, expected in April or May at Augusta Mall.

One of more than 50 shops in development, the Augusta store is part of a global expansion strategy for 236 shops in selected markets by 2013, according to a company news release.

“A shop in Augusta is long overdue,” said the CEO, Darin Kraetsch. “Flip-flops have evolved into a premium lifestyle necessity, and Flip Flop Shops was created to fill the void in the retail industry.”

The shops carry brands of flip-flops and sandals, including REEF, Sanuk, Flojos, VANS, havaianas, OluKai, Cobian and O’NEILL. They retail from $20 to more than $100.
