MarketWatch:

McDonald’s Corp. said Monday it and the fast-food giant’s franchisees would host a massive event on April 19 to hire up to 50,000 for new crew and restaurant management jobs in the U.S.

The announcement of the hiring spree came with some impressive statistics.

McDonald’s and its franchisees will spend more than $518 million more in wages and salaries in the coming year, the company said.

More than $41.5 million will be spent on training, and the hires will add $54 million more in payroll-tax contributions to the broader economy.

And the 50,000 new workers will generate almost $1.4 billion in annual spending, the company said.
