UK: Asda To Expand George Range Overseas

Asda this morning (16 May) confirmed plans to franchise its George at Asda clothing range overseas.

The retailer, owned by Wal-Mart, plans to open a small number of pilot stores in the Middle East in the first half of next year. It expects to announce its first overseas franchising partner in the next few months.

Asda said the “exploration of franchising opportunities” was part of a long-term strategy to grow its non-food business.
