Taco John’s Plans Fall Opening In FD

The rumors are true: Taco John’s is coming to Fort Dodge.

Franchisee Jay Sitzmann confirmed that he will open his third restaurant, which sells Mexican-style fast food, later this year.

Taco John’s will be located on Fifth Avenue South near the new Kohl’s store under construction.

That construction, said Sitzmann, was a prime catalyst in drawing him to the city, he said.

“With Kohl’s going in, the location was really attractive,” said Sitzmann, who owns Taco John’s franchises in Spencer and Storm Lake.

Sitzmann said the overall upswing in Fort Dodge development led him to seek out an opportunity to open a restaurant in the city.
