Scantily clad female waitresses slinging beer, wings and burgers — sound familiar?

The recipe, which helped Hooters grow into a 450-plus store chain of breastaurants, is now being tweaked by the two young Long Island businessmen behind the three-unit Canz-a-citi chain. They claim their formula, which features acoustic music nights, waitresses that show less skin, female-oriented drink specials and a program that promotes children’s birthday parties, will make their chain more family-friendly.

Tim Lorito, 32, one-half of the founding team, claims the business plan of the 18-month old chain has already attracted a 60-40 female/male customer breakdown in its Westbury eatery. Plus, the co-owner added, “we just ordered more highchairs for our Patchogue location.” Read more.
