Rally’s Hamburgers Birmingham Franchisee Files For Bankruptcy Protection

The Birmingham News – al.com (blog):

A Birmingham franchisee of Rally’s Hamburgers has filed for bankruptcy protection.

Bamachex Inc. filed for Chapter 11 reorganization late Thursday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Birmingham. The company cited as many as 199 creditors, debts of between $1 million and $10 million, and assets of the same.

A list of creditors is pending. The company indicated in the filing that money will be available for unsecured creditors, or those who don’t hold collateral.

Birmingham attorney Fred Garfield is representing the firm, and declined comment Friday.

The company’s filing listed eight locations: Birmingham, Center Point, Jasper, Cullman, Homewood, Anniston, Bessemer and Midfield.
