A Different Flavor: Longtime Franchisee Starts Up Berry Winkle

Bud Silverthorn isn’t giving up the deep fryer for the frozen yogurt dispenser.

But the longtime Long John Silver’s franchisee is trying something new: Last week, Silverthorn and business partner Ron Switzer opened Berry Winkle, a frozen yogurt shop in a former LJS on Tillotson Avenue.

“This is our first yogurt endeavor,” Silverthorn, a Marion resident, said last week. “This is an original. We made it up from scratch.”
