A Wirral couple have struck gold in the annual British Franchise Association awards.

Mike and Catharine Chalton, who own and run at-home care franchise business Home Instead Senior Care, were crowned overall winners at the national BFA HSBC Franchisee of the Year Awards 2011.

They set up their business in 2007 and now employ 140 caregivers, working with more than 150 clients delivering about 7,500 to 8,000 hours of care per month.

Mrs Chalton said: “It’s been really hard work, but so very rewarding. Every day is different and there are challenges, as I guess there are with any business.”
