A La Carte: Five Guys Burgers Headed To Springfield

Springfield is on target to a get a FIVE GUYS BURGERS AND FRIES sometime in 2012.

Amanda Filler, spokeswoman for the Lorton, Va., fast-casual chain, said the restaurant will be on the city’s west side, possibly Wabash Avenue, but declined to offer more specifics.

She did say the company has 1,500 restaurants in development. “We’ve been expanding pretty rapidly,” she said.

Five Guys has a relatively small menu: burgers, kosher hot dogs, veggie and grilled cheese sandwiches and fries.

“We’re well known for our fries. They’re cooked in peanut oil,” Filler said.
