Kinnari Patel is trying to ensure that your midday pick-me-up from the office vending machine doesn’t come with a side of guilt.

Less than a year into her venture as the D.C. and Montgomery County franchisee of San Diego-based Fresh Healthy Vending LLC, Patel operates 15 health food vending machines in 13 locations throughout her territory.

Patel, who invested $165,000 for initial equipment and $5,000 in inventory, expects to reach $75,000 in revenue this year.
