Free Business Workshop Highlights Franchises

The Longwood Small Business Development Center and Barkhouser Free Enterprise Center will offer a free seminar, “Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Owning a Franchise,” Thursday, Nov. 10.

The two- hour workshop will be presented twice – from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. -in the Barkhouser Free Enterprise Center in Danville Community College’s Taylor Building.

Tom Lawrence, a FranNet representative will help answer questions about starting and owning a business or franchise.

According to the International Franchise Association, franchising is expected to grow by 2.5 percent in 2011. The association estimates 19,000 new franchised businesses will open this year. More.
