A new fast-casual “better burger” restaurant, the Denver-based Smashburger chain, will open its first Tennessee location on Monday in Murfreesboro, the local franchisee said.
The 60-seat restaurant, at 451 N. Thompson Lane, is a cross between fast-food and casual dining, with orders taken at a counter but delivered to the table, said Joseph Henry, managing partner of the Murfreesboro location.
Known for its signature “smashed” hamburger, which is placed on a grill in a large ball and smashed flat to “caramelize” the meat and “lock in the juices,” Smashburger offers a variety of cheeses and toppings for the burgers, and has other sandwiches and side orders.
