Quick-service restaurant (QSR) chain McDonald’s has initiated a new method to drive in-store traffic.
The fast-food giant debuted a mobile advertising campaign designed to ramp up its McCafé hot beverage sales, Mobile Commerce News reported. The ads, which use an iPhone application (app) from Pandora, identify the location of the smartphone user using global position satellite capabilities and tells the consumer where the closest McDonald’s restaurant is.
According to the news outlet, the app also informs smartphone users of the price for hot chocolate or small hot McCafe beverages.
