Primrose School Franchising Co., a Georgia preschool and child care business, plans to expand to California, starting in San Francisco.

Started in 1982, Primrose has 240 franchise schools in 17 states, and has sold its first agreement for California. The company didn’t say exactly where the school is likely to be “in the San Francisco market.”

Over the last year, Primrose has opened schools in Chicago, New Jersey, the District of Columbia, Philadelphia and Boston.
